Its US Dept of Ag regulations that no airline can ship any animal if the temperature is below 10 degrees at any point of the travel including stop overs.

Its US Dept of Ag regulations that no airline can ship any animal if the temperature is above 10 degrees or below 45 degrees at any point of the travel including stop overs without an Acclamation Certificate.

Its US Dept of Ag regulations that no airline can ship any animal if the temperature is above 85 degrees at any point of the travel including stop overs. All airlines except those with approved animal care handling programs must abide by this regulation.

It's US Dept of AG recommendation that no airline should ship a Brachycephalic breed when the temperature is above 70 degrees at any point of the travel including stop overs. It's the airline's discretion as to if they will or won’t ship.

These regulations do not pertain to pets on private aircraft, on pets traveling via a pet transportation company with approved climate controlled handling procedures, or special charter flights where weather related procedures have been addressed.

The State of Hawaii has no regulations prohibiting pets traveling in the cabin on flights arriving and departing to locations outside Hawaii so long as the aircraft makes NO stops in Hawaii. Hawaii regulations pertain only to flights within the state.

Default Attendant?

I fear the info in this thread is off to a bad start. Call or email the AG dept in Hawaii. Get your facts from them only. There are no 'Attendants' in cargo.

Shipping animals is a breeze if your ducks are all in a row. The airlines take fine care of them. They are in temp controlled quarters.

Search this forum for info.

Smile sending pets to Hawaii

I found that if you apply for the DIRECT RELEASE PROGRAM (for quarantine), you can complete all paperwork and tests and then pick up your pet after they go on a NONSTOP flight to Kona, Kahului or Lihue airports. Otherwise they must be inspected in Honolulu and then picked up by you or a representative and taken to the interisland terminal for shipment elsewhere. We made flight reservations with Delta and reserved spaces for the cats to travel as checked baggage on the same flight. It's not cheap ($175 each) but at least we see them off and pick them up at the end of the flight. They are put in a separate, pressurized and heated part of cargo. Be sure that you go thru passenger reservations and do not go thru the cargo arm of an airline or they will try to tell you they have to go thru Honolulu.

My family has been moving our family pets for years and they did just fine. Be sure to include something soft that smells of their owner to comfort them.

I was wondering if there is another way to get them there that would be easier on them and I would be able to be with them for the trip.

I just called Hawaiian Airlines to inquire and the woman was so not helpful. I got a bunch of 1 word answers from her.

I found an Australian Cruise line but after calling I found out the dogs were not allowed off the ship and it is a manditory round trip. So that was out.

This is a huge issue for me and if I can't find an alternative then I will have to just wait to move until they are no longer here

Thanks for any info.
