Leaf blowers are antisocial. They are noisy and don't accomplish anything. Dunno about the flag poles, though.

Most of Hawaii makes sense if you think of it as an island 2,500 miles away from any other significant land mass where we all have to get along with each other.

Personally, I think leaf blowers are horrendous. They're noisy, they don't actually accomplish anything, and they disturb the general peace. Particularly in Hawaii, I'm glad to hear they're banned.

But you are right, there are much bigger fish to fry, on any level where ever you're at.

Yeah, leaf blowers are idiotic. "Let's make a weed whacker, but get this: it doesn't whack anything!"

Why would anyone need a leafblower if there's no autumn? Grass cuttings? Leave them where they are.

I dunno about flag poles. If you fly a Hawaiian flag and your neighbor flies a Sovereignty flag, will that create friction?

The ban is only only for gasoline powered versions.

For the gardener, landscaper, mowing service it means using models that are much less powerful.

However, if I owned a company doing that kind of work, I would be smart enough to realize that in order to use electric ones, I would be plugging in at the client's site and using their electricity. This would also be saving myself from fuel and purchases...

Leaf blowers, flag poles??? How about LOUD cars? Talk about disturbing the peace(I know, I know, there is probably a law about how loud your car can be. I just wish it was enforced). Even though there is no "autumn", plenty of leaves fall year round over here, at least where I live. I've always been a rake guy myself

Noooo-o-o-o-o!!! Not my weed whacker!!! Never!!! You'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands, you will.

Where is this? BI, Honolulu, where? Not on Kauai, I don't think. We're pretty libertarian over here (except Princeville... kind of like the "except Chicago" in another thread).
