Looking for an apt. finder website other than craigslist. Primarily for Maui. We are leaning more towards renting a home (around $1700- $2000/mth). but if the right condo were available we'd settle for that also.

Has to be within 20 minutes of airport.

Any good websites or brokerage firms that I can start my research? Theres a really good chance I may be heading to Maui in a month or so, with the family to follow after the dog quarantine time.

thanks.

To make your life a little simpler, rent a fully furnished vacation rental for the 1st month or so. That will let you get into a place immediately and have no worries as you go about adjusting to island life. Then, if you decide you don't like the area you rented in, moving is really simple.

Try sites like vrbo.com or homeaway.com
Many landlords are willing to negotiate their advertised prices.

Thanks for the info...

Luckily my job provides housing for a bit until I get settled. They don't allow the whole family to crash there however. So I'll have about 3-4 months to locate something. Unless I'm able to find a great bargain on a home to buy. (if anyone, or a real estate agent, has any leads on something between 300-400K, suitable for a middle class, suburban type couple, lemme know I may be in the market as long as it's within 20 minutes of the airport. PM if needed)

I do have a college friend, who is about to get me the job, that lives in Maui. So having a back-up residence will look very good if needed.
