Although he and his older brother were badasses and noone messed with them too much because they like to fight as teenagers in the old days. Mind that they were both 5'-4" and prolly weighed 135 lbs. "Its not the size of the dog......"

I'm not even white and I get treated like one. I grew up not being accepted by whites now I have to deal with more ignorance, whatevers. This isn't highschool where picking on people some how gains anything. If people want to be respected they should show some respect. Walking off a plane and looking different doesn't make me a jerk. I'm here with my wife and kids and treating people like that is wrong. Let people be judged in their character.

Doesn't matter if you're white or not. Please don't tell me that you brought your entire family over with the understanding that you are not white that you can do whatever you want.

"White" is a generalized term used when mainlanders come and sh*t on everything people in Hawaii worked so hard on, and protected. The fragile social balance of, respect for others, above the demand, for others to respect me and realizing we are stuck here on this island, so we must PUT IN THE EFFORT to H-E-L-P make this a place we can enjoy to live.

You posted 1 post. I bet I can deduct, based on that 1 post, that you went to some C-H-E-A-P remote place anywhere OTHER THAN Honolulu to try to live and ended up having to deal with OUR version of the country redneck, ignorant, racist idiots.

Challenge that.................Tell me I'm wrong. Then I'll tell you what YOU did wrong, and put YOUR family in a undesirable situation.

The military is a mixed blessing and probably the greatest source of conflict here in Hawai'i. I think many people would agree that anxieties arise when white folks not used to basic human interactions with minorities get posted Scofield or MCBH and then go check out the town and find themselves in racial/culture shock and reacting in their usual insensitive ways. Well, this isn't Alabama. Why not enjoy and relax and grow as a person? My advice to military members: yes you would rather be in texas or florida. yes go the beach, go hiking. but also use this chance to become a better person, try new foods, smile, talk with people of a different skin color, make a friend, and be a better person.
