Just a suggestion regarding Transderm Scop....you might consider using half of a patch instead of the whole thing. If you haven't already, google it to familiarize yourself with the side effects (dizziness, dilated pupils, blurred vision, dry mouth, sleepiness), which can be worse than the motion sickness you're trying to avoid.
For me, the patch caused extreme sleepiness and dry mouth. The one and only time I used Transderm, I used a whole patch, and I didn't give much thought to the list of side effects on the package. After I put that patch on, I slept for 36 hours straight, occasionally becoming "semi-conscious" just long enough for someone to give me a much-needed sip of water. My mouth was so dry I could hardly get my lips open to take a drink. Then I'd fall right back asleep. It was awful.
I know, my reaction was worse than most, but I just wanted to give you some info in case you weren't aware.
I have no doubt it is expensive but Costco is selling the stuff cheaper than walmart and walmart was supposed to be applying the insurance coverage .
Maybe Costco got a better deal from the manufacturer than Walmart??? Costco sells computers for less than Walmart, at least the one we just bought--it happens, get over it, do your homework next time you have to buy something??
I just looked this up under my plan--not covered costs $148/month at the local pharmacy or $137 through mail order...
I am on Medicare. They penalize you if you don't take out the prescription insurance at the time you turn 65. UP until then, I had cobbled together a way to get my medicines through various ways, samples, discounts from various entities, etc. I go on Plan D and my medicines are priced more than I can pay, plus I still have to pay the insurance premium. Now, if I could take all generics, my cost would be practically nil. But, because I cannot always take the meds from 3rd world countries and the fillers they use, I have to take brand name. I am back to cobbling together a way to get my meds, paying off insurance, and still having to pay the premiums. It ain't always a good deal. And, generics are not the same a lot of time....even the some doctors will admit that.

Who told you that generics come from third world countries? I dont think so

You got that right!
It amazes me that in today’s modern world of instant fact checking, some people still cling to that backward thinking that generics are from some foreign country where cardboard and used socks are used in the medication.
AnnieA, prescription medications are manufactured in factories spread all over the world. You can get a brand name medication that was manufactured in India and its generic that was manufactured in Indiana. Do not for a second mistakenly assume that the county of origin of generic medication is foreign and brand names are domestic. You may be surprised to learn that the majority of pill/capsule brand name medications are manufactured overseas as the manufacture has a limited patent time and they want to maximize profits while they are the exclusive providers.

I recall when Bush was supporting embargos on drugs made in other countries from coming into the USA. He tried to scare people saying that the quality was a concern and to protect out health was the reason ..The real story is that the drugs he banned have been proven to be as good as those made here(and some are) He was protecting the big business drug makers .How dare we be able to buy a pill for 50cents when the big buck price jumping drug companies can demand 5 bucks for the same pill...Its about money
WalMart's prescription plan has a comparatively very low premium.(the lowest I found)
But the deductible and some of the co-pays are higher to make up for it.
Generally speaking, you still come out ahead over the course of the year.

I dont know about walmarts plan but I have Blue cross which is the state employee and retired state worker insurance.I thought insurance was to help pay some of your cost NOT make the cost more. Just shows some greedy business is going on

I'm going to bet there is a 99% chance that it was a simple error and the OP should have really looked into it, by calling them and saying "hey, I noticed I got charged XX dollars but my insurance plan says it should have been YY dollars....and it would have been fixed.
