One of the insurance companies here in NC went on record yesterday stating there will be a decision about what will be done with existing policies on December 1st....

I'm not sure what I will need. I am paying insurance to cover all of "the unknown." In one year I could break a hip, break my arm and need back surgery. The next year I could be perfectly healthy and never see a doctor. The three known factors in insurance are 1) my deductible 2) my monthly cost and 3) OVERALL coverage. So yes, I might be paying for a foot surgery and I might never use, but it's there if I need it. Your points are not valid.
So, you're covered against the risk of your sperms being ornery and stubborn little devils that get past your flimsy, breakable, leakable barrier and manage to infiltrate the enemy womb, despite your wishes for them to stay where they belong like the good little boys you pretend that they are.

You should be grateful.

Conversely: the government could mandate that you have $100,000 set aside in an escrow account to cover the first 18 years of your first child's life, until such time as you prove to be permanently infertile.

Unless your son earns more than $45,960 your son will receive a subsidy. Tell us how bad his premium will be for a 26 year old. Something tells me by that last sentence this is less about his monthly premium and more about Obama.

I agree that that's a lot of money for a health insurance premium for a 26 year old.

You have to wonder how much it would have gone up anyway. Don't say it wouldn't have, you know better.

He should shop around, he doesn't have to take the policy his current company is offering up as a replacement.
