Can someone please inform me on what action/non-action I must take. Do I need to change my name on my social security card before i apply for retirement benefits? Here is the situation. I have a 42 year old son who is junior. It shows his name that way on his SS card since he was 12 years old. Since he was born, I always sign my name with SR on the end. My SS card does not have SR(SENIOR) after my name because my card was iisued to me before my son was born. Since his card shows him as JR(JUNIOR),do I need to do anything with my card? Please advise. Thank-you.
