I’ve heard EXISTING Medicare recipients tell me “$109”, but never the cents amount. Because I understand that the Part B premium can only be raised to the amount of the cost of living adjustment, I’ve believed that everyone has a DIFFERENT $109.... premium ( the cents Part ). What is your indidual Part B premium for 2017?
It depends on original premium at time of sign-up and $$ amount of subsequent COLAs, if any, relative to the actual Part B premium at the time.
Because my premium began at $98 in 2009, then increased to $105 a year or two later, with no cost of living increases for a few years thereafter which triggered the hold-harmless provision, my premium (and most other recipients, as well) remained below what new Part B enrollees paid - UNTIL this year when my benefit increased $40, $23 of which went to bring me to par at $134 for Part B.
Further, Medicare premiums are means tested by income. Those whose incomes are higher pay more, per Medicare, here:
My Medicare Part B premium for 2017 was $111. For 2018, it will be $134 - as will most people - unless their cost-of-living increases were insufficient to allow an increase in the Part B premium to the $134 level.

It appears you seem obsessed with cents? It's an even amount - NO CENTS.
Well, for me $72 a year on the 2% so I guess it can be moot or if one drinks starbucks a coffee once a month.
