So, my wife and I have a baby due late December. On top of that, my company is currently having open enrollment for 2019. To complicate things further, my wife is planning on taking short term disability, but does not plan on returning to her job. We want to avoid her employer from clawing back her insurance premiums. The question is, can we have the birth and the new baby be under her insurance for December, but switch everyone to mine come January 1st?
