If I weren't already uninsured this would be so funny; apparently before my health insurance was cancelled for non-payment the company (well known national company) proceeded to send me details of my premium increase for the new year that begins on Sunday. I've had this insurance since 2004 and paid $528/month then. If I were to keep and continue the insurance through 2010 my premium will be $890/month. Just over last year this is $108 more every month. Now consider that last year we did not submit claims to this insurance over $300. Good thing I'm unemployed and can't pay the premium anymore!

I know what you mean. In 2001 I paid $165 a month for Connecticut Blue Cross/Anthem- with NO deductible- and a $10 co pay.

The same policy today would cost me around $750 a month.

I went over to a 'Public Option' health Plan here in CT- The Charter Oak Health Plan
see Charter Oak Health Plan

I now pay $75 a month- yearly deductible $150
Who said Government sponsored health care is bad - I have received better service then the Insurance companies could offer.
