The neck is no exception in the arthritis world. Move it, stretch it etc etc....don't sit in one position for hours. I deal with advanced arthritis and I'm 79, and it's hit every part of my body. I manage as best I can and it's inevitable with aging for MANY.

Besides seeing my Dr., which I have an appointment to do, what has worked for people? I assume I'll be prescribed physical therapy. What has helped the most?

I do, it was triggered by a rollover car wreck. My mom suggested pure cherry juice , I located some and just started drinking it this week , fingers crossed that I feel some relief , its supposed to help with inflammation. I also read that wearing a cervical collar to sleep or around the house will help rest our necks? I use my heating pad a lot and try to avoid ibuprofen , my sister said that Tylenol wont help , odd because Tylenol makes a arthritis strength .

Traction at home helped me greatly, recommended by neurosurgeon. There are home-use traction sets...very simple. Have not had any major issues since, just neck pain and aching, especially during cold and/or rainy weather.

Home traction....worked great. Separates the disks, allowing for nerves being "pinched" to relax, rest. Home apparatus was simple as pie. Never even had PT.

Of course, everyone is different...
