If you have high risk or reason to be concerned, I recommend Coghlan's Snake Bite Kit. or one of several similar competitors. Google it to buy online, less than $10, of they might have them in the camping supply department of stores like WalMart.

I bought one just to keep in the car, just on a whim. Then one day I put my hand on the rail going down into the basement, right on a wasp, which stung my finger. The pain was immediate and extreme. I went out to my car, got out my snake bite kit, and simply applied the suction cup to the sting, and literally within seconds, all discomfort disappeared, as the suction drew the poison out through the sting hole. I was totally sold.
