Until my mother developed osteoporosis, no one around me realized just how many drugs can result in bone loss. Depression and anxiety meds, relaxants, and many others. In many cases, it isn't even listed as a side effect. The FDA needs to do something about this - why don't they even so much as recommend bone density tests every 2 years or so for those taking these meds?

A quick Google search on antidepressants and bone loss make it clear the jury is still out on a possible link. Every article I found used the word MAY not DOES. I also found some ongoing studies that are attempting to figure out if there is a causative link.
