I have been seeing an internist for fatigue and a lung condition. She sent me to physical therapy to try and increase my stamina. It sent me backwards.

The interesting thing is that my oxygen levels during the exercise remained in the high 90s. My assumption is that that would indicate the fatigue is not related to the lung condition. She ran a test on the thyroid and adrenals and they came back normal. So now she wants me to go back the Pulmonologist. But no one can explain to my why she thinks it could still be lung related when my oxygen levels remain so high.

Anyone else have a similar experience or insight?

I hate these medical dilemmas! With all the progress that has been made in the medical stuff, they are still stumped and you have to see so many doctors to get a answer!

I have been under doctors care since June 30 for real bad vertigo. No treatment has worked. MRI was done in July, they found a brain tumor but that is not the reason for my vertigo. Yesterday we did a CT scan and found there is thick infection in my right upper sinus although I had done 2 weeks of antibiotics in June. The ENT is STILL not sure this is the cause of my Vertigo and wants me to see other specialists.. He put me on 5 different medications yesterday, including a 30 day round of antibiotics. I am going to hold off seeing the other specialists until I can see if all this medication is clearing it up.

It is just a shame with all the modern technology, things still stump them! I think it is time to look at your heart! I have a friend that has asthma and for a whole year she suffered with one asthma attack after another, we almost lost her a number of times during that year and as time went on, she was getting worse and worse. She moved to a different state and got all new doctor and it was her HEART causing her to loose her breath, not her asthma.

My internist sent me back to the pulmonologist to have a physician-supervised exercise test done to rule out the heart and lungs as the source of the fatigue. I am still waiting to hear when the appointment will be. My internist is reputed to be very aggressive at getting to the bottom of things so hopefully she will be once we move past the heart and lungs.

Thanks for your feedback. Good luck to you with your symptoms. On one hand modern medicine is amazing. On the other hand, it is still very symptom-oriented and I think sometimes doctors still miss the effect of one part of the body on another part.
