I was told that if you can defecate and urinate at the same time, then you have psychological problems, ( Ok, I was told that you are mad ).

These were not my words, but there you are.

Before you ask, I’m not telling.

Do you have any medical myths or not to add?

It could also mean,in women mostly, that you have weak bladder muscles.

Then again, it's usually caused by childbirth, and being a parent tends to make one nuts at times........

Maybe.

FWIW, I can't recall any pts., even on the severely disturbed wards, being able to do something like that either. I have heard of a yogi who could suck water up his arse though.

I think it's probably just not common for males to do both at the same time since they're usually standing up for one, and sitting for the other.

But if I have a full bladder and need to take a dump, I don't have much trouble doing both at the same time.

Maybe it's just a male thing.

I am a male; and I can do both at the same time.

I spent a number of years living on subs, we had no urinals and were subject to rolling at times. It was just safer, less mess and easier to sit down when urinating. So today I have no hang-ups about sitting.

If I am outside then I go whenever I need to.

I was hoping that anyone and everyone would feel free to add other medical myths or not.

Anything strangely questionable will do.

I heard it's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open! Does that count?

I do both at the same time and I'm female.

Another myth: reading in the dark and sitting too close to the TV/computer will make you go blind. Totally not true. It puts strain on your eyes but it's not blinding.
