I recommenced seeing a chiropractor that practices a special form call active release technique (ART). Almost every NFL team has one of these guys on their training staff. I had lower back and neck pains. Cured me in 3-4 visits.

I ditto the suggestions in finding a Chiropractor who uses the ART technique. Many insurance plans actually cover chiropractic care now - call your insurance provider and see if they do. If not, the chiropractors I have seen have all had payment options and some have had sliding scale type payments they can work out with you depending on your income. All the chiropractors I have seen in the last 10 years have all been really cool guys who do what they do because they like to make people feel better. Two of them were MD's who got sick of all the crap they had to deal with and decided they wanted to help people heal in different, more holistic, way. Anyway - find a chiropractor, he will do Xrays and check you out and the healing and pain relief can begin from there. Just don't expect it to happen in one visit... often back pain is due to old injuries which happened years prior, and your body trying to make the best of it which, over time, creates a lot of scar tissue around the spine... nerves get pinched which causes the pain... the back doesn't move like it's supposed to... there are a lot of problems that can happen when things have been left to worsen over time. It takes time to help the body repair all this stuff.

Before you do anything, you need to find out what is causing it. It may be nothing more than strained muscles or stress tension, but it may also be something a lot more serious. My late husband had a lot of back pain, his first doc told him to quit whining and go back to work [he was a commercial fisherman]. The last one sent him to a specialist in another city, where they did an MRI and discovered that when the last boat he'd been on went down, he crushed several disks and he ended up having them all fused plus a pair of stainless steel rods to stabilize the area. It took some time for him to heal, but once he did, he was fine again.

Default Recurring back pain with no end in sight!

Have you ever suggested to your Internist to give you a referral to a Pain Management Physician? This physician treats all types of pain from a 1 to a 13 on a scale of 1-10, meaning the pain is off the scale when some patients are seen. These doctors are Rehabilitation Specialists and will take a comprehensive history from you and then performs a very extensive physical examination, testing nerves, muscle strength, bending, lifting legs, raising your arms, etc. He orders laboratory data and extensive x-rays and scans looking for all causes of your pain. The first appointment is usually 1-2 hours and the amount of x-rays and lab tests ordered are quite extensive. After all the tests are back, he will have your come back to the office, explain all the test results, and then discuss a medical treatment plan for you, whether it be pain medication, vitamins, physical therapy, Orthopedic consultation for surgery or Neurosurgical consultation for surgery, etc. There are epidural pain blocks that can be administered in your back as an out-patient which contains a steroid medication and a long-acting pain medication which will quiet down the muscle spasms and also help heal them at the same time. Thinking right away that you need surgery should be a last resort. Once your enter Pain Management, this doctor who is an M.D., works with you to find a way to control your pain and to help you live a normal life, but not to give you drugs and stay in bed sleeping all the time. You can live a normal life and have control of your pain whether it be by medication management, surgical management or physical therapy. You don't have to live the rest of your life in chronic pain. Many diabetics have found help by pain management because of diabetic neuropathy, which is nerve damage caused by diabetes. There are many reasons for chronic pain, but you don't have to spend the rest of your life in pain. There is help, and pain management will find the reasons for your pain and how to control YOUR PAIN. You will be treated as an individual because every person's pain is different and people tolerate pain on different levels. What may help me may not help you. Below is just one site for pain management. Your regular physician should have a pain management specialist who he can refer you to for work-up and treatment of the cause of your pain. I know what you are going through and I pray you find as fantastic a physician as I have who really listens and cares about me. If you need the name and number of someone in your area, I may be able to help you. Please let me know how you are doing, and please don't wait to make that call. This is you before the phone call to pain management, and this is you after your work-up and treatment . Believe me, you can get back to a normal life with control of your pain.

Exclamation Pain in the Lower Left Back Side

I have gotten past an ear ache seems as though peroxide stopped the oncoming one in its tracks Another problem just came about though and Im normally in good health. I was just wondering if anyone
knew about having lower back pain in the Left side only. Pushing on this area is not painful. The pain also increases during movement when im bent over reaching towards the left or to the right. I know it might not be the kidney because I heard that the pain stems normally on your right and in the front. Also, I have no problems urinating nor does the color variate in my urine. I also think it might be an organ because of the location not being near to much muscle. Funny story thats not so funny is my sister is going through the same pain at the same time as me. So, please if any ideas on what this pain could be I'd be more than happy to hear
Thanks in Advance

It could be a slipped/herniated disc. Go to a doctor and get it checked out. Back pain should always be taken seriously because you never know how bad it can get until it's too late:
