Default How to remove a muscle knot?

For the past 2 days I have had pain in my left shoulder, near my neck. A hot shower stops the pain but within 30min it is back. Today was the worst. Kept on hurting for hours and made it hard to breeze since when I breeze in it would cause the muscle in my shoulder to hurt. Around 3pm I began to feel pressure building on the spot with a numb like feeling going down my left arm, then whenin 20 seconds of that the pressure stops and the pain I have been feeling up till 3pm went away. Still feel pain, mostly like I have a cramp or something but it is not as bad as when I felt that strange pressure build up that got rid of most of the pain.

Anyone know how to get rid of a muscle knot?

A quick visit to a Chiropractor will fix the cause for that stiff neck. Believe it or not.

i second the visit to the chiropractor, tho i will also add that you do a little research on the ones in your area first, some are really good, some are okay, and then you have your quacks so look into em, ask your friends and co workers if theyve ever been to one, a good one will fix that right up and then youll be feelin tons better

If you're having a muscle spasm, it can hurt for weeks and weeks. I've found that letting hot water (in the shower) run over it really helps WHILE I'M IN THE SHOWER, but it will stop being effective as soon as the heat stop.

I've gotten muscle relaxants before....I don't take them for long...2-3 days at most (I don't like how they make me feel), but it can help the spasm relax....and then, it's just letting the muscle stop hurting!

Not to rain on your parade but tight neck muscles are a key indicator of spinal neck misalignment that a good chiropractor can fix. Once your neck is ok the muscles won't get tight trying to pull your spine back into correct alignment.

The body tries to fix itself but can't sometimes.........

I'm a little late in responding but I agree that massage is the best way to work knots out. Glad you found some relief, those ones in the shoulder are really bothersome.
