CHICAGO The American Academy of Pediatrics wants teenagers banned from tanning salons to reduce their risk of skin cancer.

More than 30 states regulate indoor tanning by minors, with some banning children younger than 14 or requiring parental permission. Illinois and New York are among states considering bills barring anyone under 18 from indoor tanning.

Sounds good to me, other than reproductive issues a minor needs parental permission for anything more than a haircut. A requirement should be showing the minor than wants to use a tanning bed pictures of people that have spent a lot of time in the sun.

I think it is a good idea anyone under 18 be with a parent to tan. I have known women that go to multiple places in the same day and tan at each one of them.
