So I been taking trazedone and melatonin. Now it won't work for me. My family is very noisy. It can be 11pm at night and my mother and brother are yelling. Or my dad is yelling. They are very loud and inconsiderate with a lack of respect. So now I need some medicine that will knock me out to void out the zone. and i dont like earplugs. thanks. btw i usually go to bed around 10 or 11, but since i was bothered by the noise i have a hard time relaxing and so five hours later i wake up. i usually dream right away then the noise of my family disturbs me and i cant dream again.

Try using a fan for background noise to drown them out. It works for me. I use a HUGE metal fan and it's loud.

Have you ever tried "Hearos" earplugs, they are quiet confortable and really block out the noise. I live in a noisy building in a noisy area of town, I would never sleep if not for earplugs.

Try some valerian. It's a pretty harmless herb and I tell you it knocks me out cold!!!

You can't take melatonin for too long, your brain will stop produce its own.

Same here - if there is noisy around I won't sleep. I always sleep with ear plugs and sometimes take some medication.

Whatever you do ... please try to get a good night's sleep. Ideally it should be a full 8 hours, but try for at least 7 hours.

Getting proper sleep - and by that I mean getting into the deeper levels of sleep, below the REM stage - is so important to your health, your immune system, your energy and functioning, even your psychological well being.

Is your mattress comfortable?

So many people suffer from Insomnia, Narcolepsy, Restless Leg Syndrome, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, etc. Sleep disorders can and will seriously affect your health and your life.

Good luck!

easier said than done. I mean really--wouldn't it be wonderful and perfect if one could simply do as you suggest?
For anyone with insomnia and other sleep issues---trust me when I say--we already KNOW we need it we just aren't capable of getting it.

Getting a "sleep study" done is important if you aren't getting sleep long term. I used to have sleep apnea and didn't even know it until after the study was done. I lost a lot of weight and don't have it anymore, but I still have sleep anxiety so the HUGE metal fans take care of that and any noise that may be outside.

Ask your doctor for a "sleep study" if you're not sleeping long term. It's very important to your health to get good quality sleep.
