Celebrex used to give me good joint pain relief but when the danger recall came a few years back my VA stopped authorizing it (I heard the Gov. saved a lot of $$) and I was given tramadol that just doesn't do it.I see now many ads on TV stating it's safe and the best in many cases.Should I seek a civilian Doctor and get a script for celebrex?Has any one gone back on it ?

Celebrex was never recalled, Vioxx was.

ALL NSAIDs have risks including cardiovascular and GI. Celebrex is safer in some ways (GI) and maybe riskier in others (cardiovascular)

Tramadol is not a NSAID it is an analgesic only, does nothing for inflammation.

If you feel Celebrex was helping you more you should definitely have another discussion with your current provider or a different one if need be.
