I have always been a coffee drinker, but when I added green tea capsules to my routine in an effort to increase my sluggish metabolism, I started to get palpitations. I can drink the coffee OR take the capsules but cannot do both or they come back.

I'm also grateful for the internet. I learned much about palpitations and supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) this way. I also learned that by doing the Valsalva maneuver on yourself you can often stop SVT and put your heart back into the normal sinus rhythm. I have done this more than once and the SVT converts back to a normal sinus rhythm within a few minutes.

Any drug that is a strong stimulant, especially the illegal stimulants such as meth and cocaine, can have a deleterious effect on heart rhythm and use of them can cause irreversible damage to the electrical system of the heart.

I used to have full-blown panic attacks just over my PVC's, which of course only served to make them worse. I spent my whole childhood thinking I was going to die every day from heart disease.

I agree. So glad we have the Internet to tell us these things now.

Sounds like Atrial Fibulation. I have it, and know what those flutters feel like. Best to get a couple of Dr's opinions. Have a family history of the symptoms you describe?

My doctor diagnosed me with that. It's nothing serious.

I had them bad a few years ago and olive leaf extract made them go away completely. I've noticed that mine are triggered by overdoing the sugar consumption--mine started right after the xmas holidays--you may want to keep an eye on that and see if the same is true for you.
