whenever the weather is overcast and it looks like it is going to rain and you might feel very slight drops of drizzle, the back of my throat gets irritated and i might cough a few times, but when it starts to actually rain, it all clears up

my car in the same weather, emits a hissing sound coming from the fanbelt area and when it starts to rain, it goes away. this never happens in good weather

similarly i have heard that roads are most dangerous when it first starts to drizzle and rain because there hasn't been sufficient rain to wash all the oils down the sewers and drains

i am not comparing myself to cars or anything but is there something in the environment that is triggered when it gets overcast and is about to rain?

If I were to guess, I'd say it isn't anything physically related to the weather but rather some sort of very mild anxiety about anticipating rain.

The rest of the post regarding the car sounds normal - so a little moisture gets in the belts or the humidity affects the belts. No big deal.
