My Dr. called me with the results to my blood work. I recently lost 35 lbs, & he told me my cholesterol was back down, & to stop taking that medication as well as my B/P med. thats good.....But he told me my triglycerides are up to 450! how would my cholesterol go down, but my triglycerides go up VERY high?

That sounds like a question that should be asked of ones doctor. Seriously, these people on here can't agree on anything. Plus, the answers tossed out will vary dramatically depending how cool they think where you choose to live is. Ask a real doctor. Sounds important enough to get sound advice.

You can also educate yourself about it...always try to be informed when dealing with your doctor that way you can ask better questions.

LOL, good advice. Don't ignore this, triglycerides are a more important predictor of cardiovascular disease than cholesterol.

If triglicerides are high with LDL low it's probably caused by too much fructose being run through your liver either in the form of fruits and fruit juices, aspartame or alcohol.

What's your diet like???

The human body stores carbohydrates mainly in the liver and muscle tissues. When both of these storage points are close to full and cannot store any more Carbs, they must go somewhere. So the liver will convert them into Triglycerides, some will remain in the blood, some will be stored as fat

Eating too high a percentage of carbs is probably not a good way to make your blood profile look better.
