Eye conditions that usually didn't occur until we aged, are now occurring in people who are much younger because of computers. My opthalmologist said that when we stare at a computer screen, we do not blink as much as we normally would, and our eyes are constantly having to adjust to looking at the screen and then at other objects.
My recommendation would be for you to have the blurry condition checked out just to play it safe. Could be nothing, but not worth taking the chance.

Vitamins are used if you have the dry type of mac degen, but in all honesty, I don't think it's been proven that they really do that much.

Ahhhhh, now that you mentioned that......
Try using artificial tears. You can put a drop or two in as often as you want, or think you need. The lack of blinking causes dryness and you can end up with "dry eyes", which can make you feel blurry, itchy, scratchy, etc. It can be very uncomfortable - like if you had sand in your eye.

wow.. I tried the eydrops to see if it would make a difference, and I hadn't even noticed the blurriness was gone until I saw this post unanswered from the weekend!! You guys are great
Call it paranoia if you will, I will keep an eye on it. But I can't believe how much more I was straining without the eyedrops. ( a lot of it might've had to do with the chemicals hanging around in the air that haven't been properly ventilated the past few weeks )

HI Arctic Kitten,
I am an eye doctor in the Raleigh NC area, Your could be experiencing a number of things , such as dry eye syndrome (can sometimes affect one eye more than the other) , you could also have an ocular muscle imbalance, in that case, the vision may be 20/20 ,but one eye may become more fatigued than the other and that could cause some blurriness. It could also be more serious, such as a cataract, glaucoma or a retinal problem ... best to get it checked out :-)

Medical eye professionals recommend taking I-Caps. There are two kinds, so don't be confused. The less expensive one is not proven, but the other one is (not a big difference in price between the two). It is the AREDS formula. It says so right on the front of the label. It has been proven in a clinical study to slow down the disease. Other products *MAY* be helpful, but it's not known because studies have not been done on them. A study was done on the AREDS formula, with positive results. It is strongly recommended by our opthalmologists. Ask your eye doctor. He/she will know about it.
As for macular degeneration, there are two kinds: wet and dry. There is a new treatment that works for the wet kind of macular generation. The study was conducted by a Duke eye doctor (pm me if you want a link to the study and results).
I heard in a news snippet on TV a few weeks ago that there is something in pears that seems to help slow down macular degeneration.

Similar problem
Fiddlekitten, I'm having a similar problem on my left eye. I have never had the same problem on my right eye. The problem came once and stay for a month and went. Now it has return again.
It always happen after my left eye is exposed to bright sun light. I notice a visible brown circle mark right in the middle of my vision. It follows whatever direction I roll my eye ball to. This brown patch can be easily visible when I close my right eye and blink my left eye rapidly.
Nothing has fixed it in the past. I have tried many things I possibly can to cure it. Nothing worked. It took a month to fade away slowly.
I sit in front of computer screen all day but never need a drop of artificial tear. I'm 41 with perfect eye sight. I'm fit enough to play soccer 45min a day 5 days a week.

I am glad that the eye drops worked. you have a typical "dry eye" a very common condition. the good thing about artificial tears is that you can use them as often as you need, without any adverse reactions.
BUT- you still need an eye exam.
Forget the vitamins, and go see an optometrist.
