Has anyone heard of Ultra Sound therapy for a ganglion cyst (which was removed)?
Does it work?
Ultrasound for treatment??
Ultrasound can be used to help make the diagnosis of a ganglion cyst but it won't "treat" one...
If your cyst was removed why do you need treatment? Did it come back? If so, ultrasound won't do anything to make it go away...its a sac of synovial fluid. There is no medication, supplement or non invasive treatment that will make a ganglion go away....many times they "shrink" or resolve on their own but there isn't a lot you can do to influence this process.
The recurrence rate for a ganglion cyst after surgery can be as high as 20% so sometimes they do come back even after surgery...
Years ago, a chiropractor manipulated my wrist to get rid of my ganglion cyst. At first, it felt like it was moved away from nerves and I had relief from pain and then it was gone. My cyst has never returned. Can this method be used on the ankle? See a chiropractor and find out; it would be better than having surgery.
My mother swears her Dr whacked her wrist with a heavy book to break the cyst she had. I can't call my mom a liar and it was way way back so who knows. She was never bothered by any more.

That is called "The Family Bible Cure" for these cyst because Family Bibles in the home were traditionally very big and heavy so one or two good whacks and the cyst busted and was gone.

Wow - that's very odd. But hey, if it worked... ? My husband has cysts throughout his body. For the most part they do not hurt. He drains them himself now and then. I do not know what his are called. He said they began in childhood.
