Donate a kidney to save your dad?

I think it depends on a number of factors, such as the relationship between him and his dad, the health status of himself, the likelihood that the transplant will be successful (what if the transplant fails so both him and dad end up worse off?). OTOH, if one has a very close relationship with his dad, I agree that he would do anything if just for a remote chance to extend his life by even a few weeks.

This is a GREAT point.

I have never been very close with my brother or sister, have not seen or talked to them in years. If they came to me and asked for me to donate an organ.........uh..............nope. My father and mother, if they were still alive..........well, that would be a lot different story, got along with both of them very well.
