how much does it cost to get a kidney scan to check for kidney function and appearance?

If you are considering a CT Scan I had one a couple years ago at a Urology specialty facility and I think the full bill was around $3-4,000. BUT as noted, it depends...

Getting a close idea to your actual out-of -pocket expenses can be difficult. As a start I'd ask the drs/clinics where you might go what their charges are for the procedure. If you can get the procedure ICD9 or CPT codes it will help. Then call your Insurance Company to find out what your benefit is for the procedure including your responsibility for your portion of any remaining deductible,

What you will NOT likely find out is the contractual adjustment in the charges between the provider and your insurance company. Unfortunately it is this charge that the ins benefits apply to. Hence the difficulty in getting a good estimate before the procedure. But this should get you "some" info. Good Luck!
