What the heck is it?, I seemed to have come down with it Sunday evening, Started with a feeling of hotness, followed by a headache, followed by vomiting then went to lay down and woke up 12 hours later feeling better but aching all over and feeling like i'd been in a fight.
Sure wouldnt want to come down with this malady too often.
Any chance it could be something else other than 24 hour flu?

It sounds like a 24-hour bug. People get them, it's not uncommon. It makes you miserable for a day, and then you get better. Sometimes, it's a teeny tiny miniscule amount of "toxic" bacteria in something you ate. But the fact that so many people come down with this malady around the same time every year, suggests it's "something else."

I used to get 24-hour-flus. And yes we call them "the flu." It's not influenza. Or might not be influenza. Perhaps it is. But regardless of what it was, medically, it was -called- "the flu."

You stay home, drink gingerale, eat saltines, keep a kettle with a little water in it near your bedside (as a place to throw up), have someone give your back alcohol rubs, take an aspirin or other fever-lowering analgesic, and when you're able to eat without puking it all back up again, have some chicken soup.
