Good morning CD....I finally, for the first time in my entire life, went to the eye doctor a year ago when I turned 40.. Turned out my vision is still 20/20, BUT I have MGD and it causes constant irritation, burning, itching, and mostly a feeling of something in the eye.. He gave me a prescription for eyedrops, but I am more of an alternative medicine type of person, so I threw it away. I was wondering if anyone else has this and knows of any natural treatments (besides a warm, wet washcloth on my eyes several times a day).. I like to wear mascara and sometimes liner and eye shadow and can't do the washcloth thing very often..
Maybe a dietary change? I have no idea but if anyone has this and knows what works please comment.
TY

Are you sure you have the correct name for the problem?

Is this perhaps it?

DryEyeZone :: Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)

The washcloth thing is a mainstay of treatment. It is also about as risk free as anything you could do. You can resume the makeup when you get the condition under control. Here's how to do it.

The longer it is untreated, the worse it gets. You should talk to your doctor again. Ask any questions you may have, get the medication, and try it.
