Pain Relief!
I just wanted to share with those of you suffering from Achilles heel pain, that only one dose of Prednisone stopped the pain! On the day I was suppose to travel across country, my heel pain was so bad that I could barely walk and thought I would have to cancel our trip. I called my Podiatrist's office and told them about my predicament and the pain. I had seen him a month ago for the same problem but he didn't prescribe anything other than aleve and exercises. This time I picked up a regimen of prednisone to be taken for six days with the highest dose the first day. It was like a miracle that after just taking a few of the pills, the pain was gone and did not return all through my trip and since returning home. The only side effects were hot flashes. Hope this helps someone.

I have a love/hate relationship with prednisone. I love how it controls my pain but I hate the side effects of long-term use: weight gain, steroid-induced diabetes and hypertension, as well as joint damage and some organ damage.

Definetly TWF! But if you can do it for the short term it is amazing. I had this achilles issue for months. Couldn't do shots in this area and aleve did nothing. I just couldn't believe after just a couple of the pills the first day, the pain was gone. Changed my mood, how I felt waking up in the morning, everything.

Glad you are feeling better
Now what you need to do is make it your business to give up going barefooted.
Have a pair of "slides" (I like Addidas) or firm soled slippers to put on the minute you take your shoes off at home. If you make it a habit to do this you'll be able to stay pain free
