I have an awful scar on my head. Is there any cream or lasers I can use to fade the scar without damaging the surrounding hair?

I know that when I had surgery, the dr told me to poke a hole in a vitamin e capsule and use the liquid directly on the scar, or the area that was healing.

I think that the area I had surgery on looks pretty good, scar is very light, imo

I had a couple of wrist surgeries. My doctor had me rub cocoa butter on it. Honestly I did not see it lighten it much and in the summer it does not tan so it stands out. I have also heard to use vitamin E but have never tried it.

Mederma works great. I used it on a scar on my daughters face when she was little. You can hardly see it now.

I recommend silicone sheets to patients with scar issues, seems to work the best and there are clinical studies to back up its effectiveness.

I had a motorcycle accident a while back Moderator cut: too new to make specific recs, read TOS on the really bad scars on my chin i have been going in for laser scar removal. Its a lot like the laser tattoo removal I found a lot of sites online with all kinds of information on it.

Marc, does the laser take the scars away completely or does it lesson it to a degree?

Nothing can get rid of scars completely

Laser treatments for scars basically blend them in but don't erase them
