Besides the issue of empty calories what do you think of this weekly intake of alcohol:

1 22 oz bottle of IPA beer 2-3 evenings and 1 eve on the weekend 2 x 22oz bottles of IPA or Bock beer.

On a broader note - beer lovers, what is your typical weekly consumption and what do you think of it health wise? If you enjoy beer do you practice moderation and what do you do to mitigate any negative consumption effects?

That's 100 ounces a week, or the equivalent of eight 12-ounce cans of beer a week, which seems OK to me. I don't know if the spacing has much relevance, as long as it's not binge drinking. I'm presuming that that is the only alcohol you ever drink, right?

It's not the amount that matters so much as the fact that a person can't do without it. Can you stop for a week and see how it feels?

good! thanks!

well, when my doctor told me to "watch what I drink" I took my entire beer collection to my mirror and drank there in compliance with the doctors orders so I should be good!

that was a joke, my doc told me no such thing...

I'd call it a good start rather than excessive.
