Hi, I had a family doctor here in this town of mine that when I asked him a question about diabetes he would say DUH after the question. Like I should have known the answer before asking him. The word DUH has stuck in my mind ever sence. I'm glad I dropped him as a doctor and I'm sure he has lost alot of people over the word DUH. If any doctor needs to be put out of business is this guy.

"This wont hurt a bit", well yes it bloody well does and should I demonstrate by doing the same to you ?!?! I have had this said to me so many times including for really, really painful treatment and I would have gladly thrown the doctor on the floor and made him swallow his instruments... GRRRR.
I think some physicians need a big dose of reality check and a long course in humanity and bedside manner. Some of them really believe themselves to be gods...
One of my Orthopaedic surgeon told me " this is going to really hurt and I am really sorry " and i could have kissed him for his honesty.

I got "it will only get worse".

However, my top one is "you need to lose weight". Doctor does too.

Default The Death Sentence!

Death sentences...as in: you only have xxx of months to live. This is pure voodoo and it should be outlawed.

If the death sentence turns out to be accurrate like it did with my mother, it makes the doctor look like he/she knows what he/she is doing, but in reality it was my mothers BELIEF in the DOCTOR as GOD, that empowered his prediction to become her reality. Although she was already sick before her death sentence, she took a turn for the MUCH WORSE the very next day after receiving her death sentence.

regards...Franco

"You need this but your insurance won't cover it." Of course, that has nothing to do with the doctor.

DUH...what an idiotic thing to say, particularly from someone with so much schooling. I think I would have had to call him on it: "'Duh?' Is that a response you learned in medical school, or from watching The Simpsons?"

I hate that too, or if they ask about exercise. Although honestly, even though I hate it, doctors should be telling people that. Being significantly overweight/out of shape puts a person at risk for so many illnesses. But it is painful to hear.

I'm sorry but if a Dr. ever said anything even close to DUH "HE" would never want "ME" back in his office. I don't take kindly to being talked down to. By the way, what was his GPA in medical school? Barely passing? Obviously this Dr, needs some training in his "chair/bed side maner! What a complete jerk!

Hi, This past doctor of mine was at the age of retirement. This new medical care here in my town that I go to now must have thousands of new patients because they have excellent care and a cheap price for care. I have BC&BS of Tennessee and I only pay $1.10 for a Blood test taking out of a vein. They bill the rest of cost to my insurance company which is $4.85.

That I have to stop smoking, not only that, they give me a 45 minute lecture on why I need to stop smoking. Giving me the lecture only makes me want to run out and smoke more because it stresses me out.

Of course I know I need to stop. I've had 2 back surgeries and actually stopped while in the hospital but the hospital experience was so bad the 1st thing I did when I left was light up.

Default Idiocracy!

If it ever happens again, just walk out the door and send the doctor a bill for wasting your time. But, do stop smoking! If I can give you the advice to stop smoking in one second, so can the doctor...and I didn't even go to medical school. Could this idiocracy have anything to do with the high cost of medical care?

blessings....Franco
