I'm scheduled for a Ureteroscopy in a week and my Urologist doesn't seem so confident that he will be able to find my stone or even make it up to my kidney. It's 7mm and located in the upper right pole of my right kidney. I have already had Lithotripsy and it only broke off a tiny piece. I'm really nervous for the procedure and nervous it's not going to work. He said if it fails, I will have to have major surgery to get it removed. Would you know the name of this "major surgery" that he is talking about? He also said I could have indafibular stenosis, that would require different treatment. Do you know what this is or what kind of treatment it would require?

Please help!!!
Thank you!!!

Google is your friend, though it helps if you spell things correctly

"infundibular stenosis"

Is supposedly pretty rare.

It has to do with the calyx of the kidney.

The calyx are part of the urinary collecting system and have to do with how the urine is passed from the kidneys to the bladder.

Sounds like you need to call your urologist back to ask for some clarification and explanation.
