I am a reluctant tea drinker. I don't drink coffee either, but as I get older it's harder to get going in the morning. I turned to tea to kill two birds with one stone: 1) put a little pep in my step and 2) the touted health benefits. So far green tea with a little lemon (or some sort of citrus) and honey is the only one tea that I like. I've tried black, white, dandelion, various herbals, jasmine (blech!), cinnamon, and peppermint, but lemon and honey just doesn't do the trick for all of these and mostly I just choke them down and am glad when it's over.

How do you all sweeten (short of adding sugar) or cut the bitterness in your teas?

Nobody? Ick, this stuff is awful. Maybe I'll just do jumping jacks and run up and down the stairs. Less of an after taste that way

My family uses Agave, but I use nothing. I only put one-percent milk in my tea. I do sweeten my decaf coffee. I drink my tea, two teabags in a large cup to start my day. (after having a banana, and my vitamins on top of it, I mean next, not literally)

I eat breakfast and then have a large cup of decaf for the cortisol. I use the oldest, artificial sweetner, that sweet and low. I do this because coffee is more bitter than tea.

Oh! my teas are black, flavored teas and my decaf coffee is flavored, too.

I used Stevia before. It's the healthiest to use, but it lowers blood pressure. I used it for a third time, one afternoon and my BP felt too low, and I was not lightheaded but felt as if the blood was draining from my head for a few moments. I have really low bloodpressure but don't need meds for it. 106/69 or something like that, often. So, anything that lowers BP I need very little, if any of it.

I don't find teas bitter at all. My favorites are Good Earth Sweet and Spicy Herbal tea and Choice Teas (especially Twig and White). Green teas may be considered bitter, but not that noticable to me. In time, if sipping slowly, this is diminished.

I don't put anything extra in my teas, preferring to savor its natural form. Perhaps, you are making your teas two strong.

I use honey.

Honestly I prefer green tea cold. I usually make a huge pitcher & keep it in the fridge, esp during summer months, it's very refreshing!

Hot tea I sometimes sweeten with honey. Iced tea I sweeten with Stevia (added as soon as the tea is finished brewing, while still hot, and mixing into the refergerator pitcher, just like making sweet tea only substituting Stevia for the sugar).

Some teas are great unsweetened, some aren't. You just have to experiment.
When I do sweetened tea, I usually use honey.

I don't like to drink hot tea, so I usually use the cold-brew flavored blends, or plain cold-brew iced tea, sweetened with stevia. The flavored blends are sweet enough that they don't need much sweetener added...my favorite is black tea with peach.
