The Food and Drug Administration Tuesday approved a home HIV test that will be sold in retail stores so people wouldn't have to go to a health facility to learn if they have the virus.

Why is this news? There's been at least one on the market now for several years, and it's available at major drug stores.

I have seen home HIV tests that use a blood sample. This is the first one I have seen that does not require a finger prick.
