There are lots of different kinds of fungus affecting humans and animals. Candida does not cause athlete's foot, Tinea does, a different kind of fungus. I won't discount that if a person's immune system if faulty, there might be a problem with systemic candidiasis, but is probably rather rare. I have a friend who cannot have any sugar products, because he will break out in huge boils! Usually due to staph or strep bacteria.
And there are plenty of meds used to combat candida, a newer one you may have heard of is Diflucan, and there are others (Nystatin), but they also have side effects and have to have liver monitored monthly while on ORAL anti-fungals. If a naturopathic remedy works and is "natural", I would try that first.

Greenie,
Read the rest of the symptoms from the link Iput in the last posts and see if you haven't also experienced a few of them.
Anyway, the foundation of the quickest way to get RID of Candidiasis is to take this as I said before, Aquaphase A T.A.D. Vitamin Corporation - Nutritional Supplements (http://www.tadvitamin.com/product.sc?productId=1 - broken link)
It says you need the "B" formula for maintenance, but I can't recall taking the "B". The important thing is to eliminate the foods that are causing the problem, that you crave. For me it was dairy but I was allowed a tiny bit of milk in one cup of coffee a day, even during the first month.
You need to INCREASE the whole NON-GLUTEN GRAINS such as brown rice, amaranth, millet and quinoa and avoid the Gluten grains - wheat, barley, rye and oats. Those will provide the fiber and the "sweeping cleaning bubbles" action to clean out your system as well as strengthen your immune system. Then you need NUTRIENTS from dark green leafy veggies like kale, collard greens, cabbage, and swiss chard and broccolli -- the cruciferous veggies are best.
Mesclun mix for salads is best.
If you detest veggies, at LEAST get a good dehydrated powdeR (GREEN DRINK) to add to your juice as a replacement. KyoGreen is a good one. It is practically tasteless, so you will hardly even notice it in your orange juice (except for the green color)
Getting a juicer and juicing veggies and fruits would be even better because then you get ALL the nutrients from the veggies and it is easily assimilated, rather than only part of it if you were chewing the vegetable whole.
This is the way to recharge your immune sytem. The first few months are not easy. It is not enough to cut down on dairy, for example, you have to cut it OUT COMPLETELY. Even read labels and avoid foods with Whey and Cassein.
I will say, I never felt deprived while doing the diet. There are so many alternatives which taste just as good. For example, get pizza with extra sauce and veggies but NO CHEESE. It is the sauce that gives it the flavor anyway.
Instead of cheese with crackers do guacamole dip and corn chips. There is an imitation soy based cream cheese made by Toffutti that you can mix condiments into to make a dip.
There are tons of yummy bean and nut dips and spreads that are loaded with nutrition.
If you want, Sea Veggies will boost your nutritional intake. You can add them to soups. Here are a few of their benefits WHFoods: Sea vegetables
Also they taste perfectly fine especially if added as a condiment.
I think you'll actually enjoy this diet. Your immune system recovers while your culinary horizons expand.

Emilybh, thank you!!! Who knew that getting rid of a toe fungus would be this much work? I have to take vitamin B, and stop eating sugar, and no more cheese. I decided it's just easier if I chop my toe off... WACK !!!!

You might also consider using this organic nail fungus product in addition to the dietary changes, keeping in mind that the dietary changes will work at a deeper level than a topical application.

You can throw all the topical solutions at it you want. The point is to realize that it is just a symptom of a more serious underlying condition, Candidiasis, causing it. To get rid of it, you need to get rid of the underlying conditon. The way to do that, is as I've explained in prior posts.
The truth is in the putting. Just try the topical treatments without addressing the cause of the fungus and see how long you get relief, if you ever really do.

Gone for good
Just like any other infection, to get rid of this problem for good, you must get it out of your entire system. (No, antibiotics don't cure bacterial infections, anti-virals don't cure viral infections and anti-fungals don't cure fungus. They only suppress them.)
I'd recommend using AlliUltra from NutriMedical Online Database of Nutritional Supplements . After using it for three weeks, I got rid of a stealth infection I'd had for decades.

Tinea is just a name a category of a SYMPTOM- not a cause. The cause is over infestation of yeast in the blood stream that causes the fungus and the cause of the yeast problem is diet. Also Candidiasis can mimic 144 different diseases and conditions. Unfortunately, people walking around with Candidiasis that can be erradicated, who have only seen medical doctors, are diagnosed as having one of the 144 conditions. If they only went to the right kind of doctor, they'd be on their way to getting rid of whatever their medical doctor told them they had once they got rid of the Candidiasis.
