All I can say you ought to be glad you're only 140 at 5'7. Eating much less than that I've exceeded your weight at 5'4.

Columbia Blues right, you've just got a fast metabolism, sure's better than a slow one where you can hardly eat anything without gaining weight.

I eat a lot, always have done.

If I don't eat regularly I get all kinds of sick and cranky and headachy.

I used to think I was just greedy until my niece was born, she eats a lot too, even as a baby she would plow through an adult sized meal with no problems at all.

Mind you, "a lot" differs for people. I will pile my plate high with vegetables or salad but I don't eat a lot of bread or meat.

I don't snack a lot either but I HAVE to have 3 good sized meals a day.

ETA: I went to a restaurant in Hong Kong once that had a sign "warning - American size portions". My daughter got some onion rings and got about 10 times what you would get here in Australia. She's not a big eater so had about 3 off the top. It could have fed all of us.

Update: 3 years later
Now I'm nearly 28 (b-day is on the 7th of April) and it's not like before anymore. Though I'm weighing the same, I can't go longer do that anymore.

The last time I tried that (then being 26), I actually felt sick and threw up.

Several months ago or so; I was at a restaurant with my family and ordered an appetizer in advance. To my surprise when my large plate came, there was a point I could barely finish and was definitely at a much slower pace. I guess good times is over now. My metabolism isn't the same anymore.

In addition, I've been recently taking a medication due to burning hunger pains and too much gases. But yes, it's going away and no longer have those pains. Sucks that it caught up to me.

Good Lord, only 140! If you ate "normally," you'd probably weigh about 72 lbs.

You probably have high blood sugar. Higher blood sugar=more cravings and bigger appetite (due to insulin resistance). I had a huge appetite...until i started taking metformin, which normalized my blood sugar from 101 to 75.
