Ladies: Which Pill? (cancer, effects, ears, break)

I'm seriously considering going back on the Pill (once my health benefits at my new job kick in). I was on Ortho-Novum 7/7/7 for 10 years with no ill side effects, and no pregnancies. I've been off the pill for a couple years now. I keep seeing these commercials for brands that promise shorter, lighter periods. One is Yaz, and another is a brand that begins with the letter "L," can't remember what. I'd love shorter, lighter periods, and I think that "L" brand also advertises as reducing acne (I don't have acne but I get occasional breakouts so maybe that might help?). What are you using, how is it working for you?

If I may ask why do you want to go back on them? If you've been off of them for any amount of time surely you can now gauge when you are ovulating and such. I've only been off of them for 6 months and I can read my body quite well. I'm just curious because my experience without them has been so great, I'm never going back.

Been on Ortho Tricyclen Lo for almost 4 years now. I love it--no side effects, light periods--I would highly recommend it. I hardly even know I'm on it, it's great! I scored big on the first try--this is the only brand I've tried, so I don't know about the other ones, but I have a hard time believing a pill can help eliminate acne--there are a lot of other factors when it comes down to getting acne. Oh--and I always know when my period is--it always comes on the same day on the 4th week of pills--ocassionaly, yes, it's been off a day, but rarely--so you always know what to expect. I don't know how old you are, but remember-the pill is not recommended for women over 35.

I'd read the long term side effects of taking the pill if I were you. For me the increased risk of cancer would be enough to choose another method
