Menstrual cycles getting shorter (hormones, doctor, birth, hormonal)

I've always had irregular menstrual cycles with a flow that lasted 5 days but recently my cycles have gotten really regular (about 25 days) and the flow lasts 3 days. I'm 43. Is this normal? I've never taken hormonal birth control.

Think about your age. I know you have heard the word "menopause." Sometimes it starts with the periods doing unusual things.

Right, but I've always heard that they get less regular as menopause approaches so I thought I was weird.

My cycle went from a a pretty regular 28 days to every 6 weeks or every 3 weeks, once I hit 40. Perimeopause sucks.

It's normal, I am 42 and the last two menstrual cycles I had my period lasted 3 days. when I was younger I had it every 28 days for 5 -7 days and heavy for the first 3 days. I also do not take hormones or birth control pills.
