I notice towards the end of the day when I'm getting tired my face gets very pale and I get red around my eyes. It's embarrassing at times and I've had people ask me "are you okay", maybe they think I'm going to faint.

Also, when I have a few alcoholic drinks this also happens. I never have been able to drink much at a club because I turn ghostly looking if I do.

Any ideas what makes some people like this?

You may want to get a blood work-up and make sure you are not anemic or something. I had someone tell me about a month ago that he can tell when I am tired because I look pale, I had no idea.

OP you're probably suffering from anemia, low on iron, best to have your doctor do a blood check ASAP. It could lead to more serious conditions.

Yeah I guess I should. I never take iron supplements, and I stopped eating spinach because of risk of kidney stones.

My 7 year old turns very pale with red under her eyes when she's tired. She also blushes very easily...I assume the two are related somehow.

Sounds like you could be anaemic as everyone has said. I get very cold aswell as pale when tired and I'm anaemic. If you are, you can get vitamin b12 jags or supplements. Best go to the doctors and get checked

B12 won't help if her anemia is iron.

Hopes is right. There's pernicious anemia - which is the body's inability to efficiently absorb vitamin B12, resulting in a B12 deficiency. Then there's anemia, which is a lack of red blood cells and an iron deficiency.

And before ingesting iron OR B12 - it's important to find out WHY you have anemia or pernicious anemia (if that's what the OP has, which the OP hasn't returned to tell us). If you're bleeding internally, you'll be anemic and no amount of iron will fix it, and you -could- end up dead if you -are- bleeding internally and just take iron assuming that it's just some mysterious deficiency with no particular cause.

I turn pale also when tired and did have blood work and nothing was found. It seems to just be "my thing" I'm very pale as is (red head with pale skin) so it could just be a natural look for me, I also get red every easily
