The point about measles is that while most people recover, a small but very important proportion will never recover...not even remotely.

Many years from now, when people look back on this whole, sorry, incident, people will wonder why urban myth and folklore outweighed science with such tragic consequences.

Every study done trying to duplicate Wakefield's results has shown that measles vaccine does not cause autism.

http://www.immunize.org/catg.d/p4026.pdf

Note that the studies are not just from the US and UK. They include many international sources, including Japanese and Finnish.

In countries with big decreases in MMR immunization rates, the number of measles cases went up. The number of autism cases did not go down.

Measles vaccine does not cause autism.

Not to mention the fact that the doctor who supposedly discovered the link was discovered to have falsified his results and has now been struck off! Why do people keep on about this rubbish? MMR does not cause autism. All you're doing is exposing your children to the danger of dying from a totally preventable disease.

MMR vaccine controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article explains how Dr Wakefield deliberately manipulated his data, failed to disclose conflicts of interest and even faked results. It also shows the increase in deaths from measles in the years during which people refused to vaccinate. A disease that had almost entirely been eradicated in the UK is now classified as "endemic" which means it is constantly or regularly found amongst the population.

I have Asperger's and had the MMR vaccine; I don't believe the vaccine was responsible.

Only folks living in caves still believe there is a link between MMR and autism...

There never was a link between the two.
