Hey everyone....just to say i went to the Grocery store and got 2 large bags 3 LB's each of frozen Blueberries (Private Selection Brand) at 11.99 a bag. Last year they were around 6.99 a bag so they have definately gone up in price but i feel great knowing i'm eating them every day. Here's another tip and that is after i eat them my teeth are blue so i brush my teeth not only to clean them but mixing the Blueberry polyphenol on my teeth with the toothpaste which will help your gums even better than just toothpaste alone. I know strange but it does work....kinda like like toothpaste with Blueberry Extract.....

6 Foot 3, Would you please share the different ways you eat your blueberries? I am aware of putting them in cereal or muffins or just eating them plain in a bowl but are there any other different ways?? I have added them to pancakes but it doesn't seem you get many that way. I would like to start eating them on a regular basis so any ideas would be appreciated.

CynwldKat......You can put them in Smoothies i.e.....Yogurt as the base with cantalope, Kiwi, Banana and other fruit you may like....also you can add either Skim Milk or Soy Milk which ever is your choice and i also add Whey as i am a weight Lifter amd a teaspoon of Olive Oil then add the Blueberries and watch the smoothie turn purple in your blender then add crushed ice as that chills it and wow what a power drink.

I also used to add them to my Oatmeal with Whey Protein powder for breakfast but i admit i do not eat Oats anymore as they really bother my health. Also i used to put ''Fat Free Cool Whip'' on them but even that has Partially Hydrogenated Oil (Trans Fat) in it so i no longer consume Whip Cream.

Now as i eat mainly Salads i eat them Frozen for my desert and not fresh as they taste like Blueberrie Icecream that way infact if you eat them to quickly you'll get a headache like eating icecream too fast. Anyway you can mixed them with just about anything. I'm sure others on here have other ideas about them but as a single dude i keep most of my meals simple as i don't have alot of time to prepare meals etc....

I'm eating some right now......

Olive oil in smoothies. You have some interesting food combinations. Just as a suggestion. Try adding flax seed oil to your smoothies instead. It has a wonderful almost nutty taste that might compliment the fruit better.

Absolutely Olive Oil as its very heart healthy with its Monounsaturated Fatty Acids and besides a teaspoon is not enough to alter the taste of a smoothie. Sometimes i add an Avacado instead of Olive Oil as its also very high in Monounsaturates.

I would add Flax but i already consume 10 grams of Fish Oil daily so i already get plenty of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids......

You might try flax see oil (as opposed to olive oil) in a fruit smoothie. Flax seed oil has a nice nutty flavor that compliments blueberries a bit better. (Oops -- posted response twice due to computer crashing...)

I prefer to put my olive oil on salads...

I remember I used to go to this place in western mass that made the most unbelievable multi-grain blueberry pancakes.... on a cold morning, they were sooooo good!
