Could vaccine help Crohns Disease - Article

I don't know how many are on here with Crohns disease or undiagnosed IBD, but I think this is interesting news.

I often wondered what triggered my Crohns, especially since everyone has an opinion yet no one has a definitive answer even now. I think it may be plausible that the bacteria MAPS could be a contributing factor but would love some opinions on this.

Do you drink milk? Hubby does and he's had Crohns for 30 years now. I drink it too but I don't have Crohns or IBS. Approaching with skepticism but always hopeful for something new that works.

Yeah, I drink milk. Albeit, not as much as I did years ago. I drink maybe one glass every 4-5 days. I stick to cottage cheese, yogurt, or hard cheese. One day I will brave it out and make my own yoghurt, but that's another story!

I went to a family reunion that had a portion of the family I never met before. There is some Celiac and other similar autoimmune disorders on that side. So, as suspected, I think that underlying factors are the culprit and perhaps something like MAP is a trigger? Or, one of the many different possible triggers?

I hope they confirm SOMETHING! All the best to you and your husband....fingers crossed for a cure.

My second daughter has Crohn's - it is a horrific condition. When she was younger it was not uncommon to take her into emerge...The only thing that gave her relief was morphine...I have never seen a person other than a cancer patient in such pain...In the last few years she goes for monthly infusions ...lucky we are in Canada...the drug is expensive...about 25 hundred dollars a dose...since she has been on this treatment her life is tolerable and she can function...I can't imagine what someone with severe Crohn's would do in America that does not have universal health care.

Morphine is 2500 per dose?

Or, is the injection remicaid or something like that?

Drink unflavored soy milk instead, use it for cereal, cooking, etc.
