Might TB be related to the cause of death? TB is lungs though. That's why this is confusing to me.
Yes actually, a disease/bacteria like that could infect the heart. How sad. He survived Nazi Germany but couldn't escape it's effects

the antecedent causes, post lobectomy upper and right lower lobes isn't referring to the heart.

This person had portions of his lung removed prior to death and it was felt to be a contributing factor to the myocarditis which finally resulted in death.

Lung diseases can cause congestive heart failure due to fluid building up in the lungs.

For example, my mother had lung cancer but ultimately her cause of death was heart failure.

Here, read this: BMC Infectious Diseases | Full text | Tuberculous dilated cardiomyopathy: an under-recognized entity?

Conclusion

Involvement of myocardium by TB is rare. However it should be suspected as a cause of congestive heart failure in any patient with features suggestive of TB. Increasing recognition of the entity and the use of endomyocardial biopsy may help us detect more cases of this "curable" form of cardiomyopathy.
