I've been trying to get back to working out for the past two months but am failing. Everytime I work out I get short of breath or start feeling sick. I've been to my doctor recently about this problem and nothing could be found. I had an echo, ekg, stress test, chest x-ray, and ct all which came out normal. My doctor couldn't find anything so she gave me an inhaler to help with the shortness of breath which does seem to help some.

I can do about 15 minutes of cardio before I get an ill feeling. I'm in my late 20s and am very thin so it isn't a matter of being overweight. Is this just a matter of not exercising for so long?

I have that and had numerous tests, so finally my cardio ordered a test for me to sleep with an Oximeter on my finger overnight. I got a call yesterday that my levels dropped below 88 percent several times during the night, one time for over an hour. So tomorrow I see a pulmonologist. Maybe you might want him to test your lungs.

Testing your lungs is certainly something you might want to ask.

Has it been the 15min range the whole time? Since 2 months ago? Have you seen any improvement in how long you can go? It could be a conditioning thing if they can't find anything. But if you been exercising often 3-5x per week and have seen no improvement in endurance it may be another issue.
