The longest I was on antibiotics was two weeks. I also took prednisone for 5 days.

I felt better so canceled the ENT. Had hardly any pressure and the post nasal drip wasn't that bad.

I did two rounds of what you did with antibiotics. If I feel worse I am going to start another two weeks of them.

You're usually good for about a month or two after antibitotics then it starts up again. Hopefully it won't happen to you

Nope, feel like crap today, started the amoxycillin again. I never felt ANY better after the two rounds of antibiotics, that's why I think I wasn't on them long enough.

I get sinusitis at least 6 times a year. amoxycillan does the trick.
but as of the last 5 weeks i have been using the afrin pump mist as my nose will not clear up.,
It is so annoying alreayd.
i had the deviated septum operation in 1982 nad again in 1992, it never worked and i would not recommend anyone to do this.

i know i need to go to a ENT again to help me, but I have other pressing issues going on so it is easier to squirt a mist up my noose twice a day.
ugh so annoying

My dad, and one of my friends, have had this surgery. It was recommended for me years ago but I have chosen not to have it -- and yes, I have chronic sinusitis. I just don't like the possible things that can go wrong . . . too risky for me. Worked for my Dad and my friend but I just don't feel good about it for myself.

My Dad and my friend both say it was "life altering." I can understand how it could be, as long as nothing went wrong.

This is my first time. No way I'm having surgery, no insurance anyway.

I had this on one side around 2001. No problems, I could actually FEEL the air moving through that nostril when I woke up! It has stayed clear ever since. Mine was to remove a glob of "something" in my sinus cavity and to chip out old crust around the entrance. The glob turned out to be an encapsulated bit of pus, not a tumor as they had said it might be.

The only problem I had, I created by over-vigorous flushing with saline solution a few days later. I dislodged a clot and began bleeding like a stuck pig. Called the doc who told me to try some things and call back if it didn't stop - it didn't. My neighbor had to drive me to the doc's office at 9 p.m. to get it cauterized - didn't feel a thing.

Wish my other side was bad enough to need it and get insurance to pay, but it isn't.

I can't help but wonder if you relocated to a different place to live or maybe had new carpet put in or painted something which caused this. Think back as to what may have changed in your environment when or shortly before this started. We found sinus issues greatly decreased when we increased eating fresh and raw vegetables leaving meat pretty much alone. Decreased sugar to almost nothing also. Used to be that sinus infections were rare.
