Wednesday night I started feeling crummy. Thursday I know that I have a fever (never took it but probably around 101.5). Stayed in bed all day to rest. No energy. Wanted the fever to eventually sweat itself out.

Still hadn't as of about 5:30 pm. So I took an Ibuprofen, and within an hour started feeling a little better, fever and headache subsided.

I'm one who never really likes to take medicines in general, but have been taking 400 mg 3 times per day. It's helping.

Should a fever be allowed to run its course?? Or.......your thoughts please.

I generally let low grade fevers run their course but once it gets to the point where it makes me or my kids uncomfortable I medicate.

If fever makes you feel miserable then you should take a fever reducer; tylenol or advil or the look-alikes are good for that.

I always take Tylenol at the first sign of a fever. It doesn't stop the disease process, merely makes you feel better. No need in the 21st century to hurt when unnecessary.
