I went to the doctor because I had high blood pressure 200/140 and they put me on medication. Just before I started the medication I started doing major overhauls to my diet and at the time I was very stressed out.

After two weeks of being on the meds my blood pressure is back down to 120/75 but I don't know if it was the meds that did it entirely or the change in diet and major reduction in stress.

Is it safe to stop the meds after a couple of weeks to see what happens? I mean what's the worst thing that can happen? If the blood pressure goes back up I can rule out my diet and lack of stress had anything to do with it?

My point it since seeing the doctor I never really got an opportunity to give the natural alternative a chance, I was on my new diet for only one week and I want to see if I can lower the blood pressure without the meds.

Thoughts?

Two weeks? It's definitely the medication....no diet could do that in a matter of weeks.

Well the worst thing that could happens is your BP could rapidly shoot up causing a stroke or heart attack from the shock.
Your reduction in BP is a combination of the BP meds and proper diet.
If you want to get off the meds then you need to do it gradually not all at once. Your doctor would be the best judge of that. Your BP and heart are 2 areas you never want to mess with.

No, the anxiety that I was having before I started taking the medication I no longer have because they check my blood work and didn't find anything. So I'm thinking the lack of stress and anxiety had a big part in lowering the blood pressure.

And if another situation arises that causes you stress or anxiety, what will keep your pressure from shooting up?
Depending on what damage has already occurred from being untreated, you may not have the opportunity to resume the medication.

There may be a chance to stop or lower the meds but this is way too early to decide that.

This situation the causes the stress and anxiety was a one time thing. I though I had a very specific disease based on something due to lifestyle choice and I got tested for it and it turns out I don't have it. I was having nightmares almost every night for the past year. Now I'm not because I know I'm good, hence the lack of stress/anxiety.

I'm not one to advocate for unnecessary medications..but in this case you'd be wise to talk with your doctor. Ask if you can wean yourself off the BP meds under their supervision. You don't want to stop abruptly. The side effects could be not so good=death from stroke.

I was much like you, but keeping taking the meds, they were more responsible for the drop than lack of stress.

Did the doctor diagnose you with essential hypertension? If so, that means your high blood pressure is likely permanent and you'll be on meds permanently. Welcome to the club.

I might cut the meds in half and see what happens rather than completely stop.

Of the 3 bp meds I've been on, the doctor has eliminated one completely, one I take twice a day, and the third I now cut in half (per doctor instructions).

I bolded the variable you have which the OP does not.
