One out of every four Americans over the age of 45 is on statins, few are aware of the extensive side effects...
Statins block the body’s ability to produce cholesterol, and also can cause increases in liver enzymes, put users at risk for jaundice, liver transplantation and death from acute liver failure, have been connected with diabetes, can result in heart attacks, cancer, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Everybody is getting rich on statins -- BigPharma, the doctors, and even the pharma reps. Lipitor had $140 billion in total sales before its patent expired.
The research I've done on statins leads me to believe that the risks FAR outweigh the rewards.

Depends on your health issues that drive you to take them.

True, but exercise and diet -- CORRECT exercise and diet -- can be equally effective, without any of the harmful side effects.
Only two problems with that: First, doctors don't get paid by BigPharma for prescribing exercise and diet. Second, most doctors aren't that savvy when it comes to discussing exercise or diet.
Good doctors do lab tests regularly on statin patients to see how the liver is functioning.
Exactly. Think I will continue taking statins.
